Lucy J. Young
“It’s not about the cards you’re dealt but how you play the hand.”
This is especially true for Lucy, an avid card player and risk taker.
While she wasn’t always dealt the best of hands, she sure made the most of each and every hand!
Devoted mom, lover of children, educator, business leader, philanthropist, mentor, school board member, and Friends of Apache Junction Board President, Lucy lived life to the fullest and made incredible contributions to Apache Junction.
Lucy will be sorely missed!
The attached article that appeared in the September 18, 2017 edition of the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon News shares reaction of community members to Lucy’s passing.
God speed, dear friend!
…for helping to make play time safer and more enjoyable for the children of our community!

Your support over the years is very much appreciated!
A pat on the back to residents of the Royal Palm neighborhood for stepping up and donating funds to enhance the median running through the neighborhood.
Another example of the generous spirit of Apache Junction citizens.
Way to go!

Thanks for helping us to feed the children at the Thank Goodness It’s Friday (“TGIF”) program! AJ News September 11, 2017 Page A4
Apache Greyhound Park generously donated $30,226 to the city’s parks and recreation department for the installation of a shade structure for the playground equipment at City Complex Park. The park, located at 1035 North Idaho Road, is in front of the multigenerational center. The park is one of the city’s most popular facilities.
The donation was facilitated by Ed Braunger, retired president and general manager of Apache Greyhound Park. Mr. Braunger, a long time civic leader, has facilitated many donations to community projects during his 21 years at the park.
Thanks to Ed and Greyhound Park for making this happen!
